Air Navigation Service Providers go for a product approach in the ATM environment
The six Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP) Naviair Denmark, FCAA Finland, HungaroControl Hungary, IAA Ireland, LFV Sweden, as well as skyguide (Switzerland) are either already using the Thales ATM System EUROCAT or intend to do so in the near future.
The six ANSPs want to go forward and explore a new way in relation with Thales. As they identified a common interest to get similar functionalities into the system, their objective is a joint development for future key functionalities coming into it. The interest of the ANSP as well as of the supplier is to have the best product approach possible in order to reduce the individual development costs as well as the implementation period and to prolong the lifetime of a product of such complexity. A fist development batch has been identified and is now ready for further investigation. Apart from the economic advantages, such an approach makes also a lot of sense in view of the coming Single European Sky and its requested interoperability.
