Today, Mr Morten Dambæk has been appointed Director General of Flyvesikringstjenesten / NAVIAIR, by Mr Jacob Buksti, Danish Minister of Transport, to run the new State Enterprise that resulted from the separation from the Danish Civil Aviation Administration (CAA-DK).
Mr Morten Dambæk is 49 years old and law graduate.
Since 1997, Morten Dambæk has occupied the position of Deputy Director General of the CAA-DK being in charge of the Air Navigation Services.
In the years between 1989-1997, Morten Dambæk occupied the positions of Deputy Director General and the Director of Aviation Safety Department.
Morten Dambæk is married and has three children.
Flyvesikringstjenesten/NAVIAIR has the general responsibility for air traffic management in Danish airspace.
Education and training of air traffic controllers – civil as well as military – and other air traffic personnel, flight information and ground-to-air communications services in Denmark and Greenland as well as co-ordination of search and rescue service in Greenland are the primary objectives of Flyvesikringstjenesten/NAVIAIR.
NAVIAIR operates and maintains navigational aids and provides advisory services.
