HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark has appointed Mr Claus Hansen to Deputy Director General of NAVIAIR on 11 October 2001 on behalf of the Queen.
Mr Claus Hansen took up employment with the Danish Civil Aviation Administration on 1 August 1966 and received his appointment as an air traffic controller on 1 July 1972 from which date he served operatively until December 1990.
During many years, Mr Claus Hansen was committed to the work related to staff unions and has chaired several posts within the Danish federation of air traffic controllers, the CAA staff association, the Danish group of departmental organisations. In addition to this, he has been a member of the executive council of the union of the higher functionaries of the Danish State.
In January 1991 he has been acting chief of the then air traffic services Copenhagen unit in charge of the overall strategic and operational planning of NAVIAIR’s business development to be created as a special field of responsibility.
In his long-standing work within the strategic and operational planning with respect to CNS/ATM system planning, he has participated in the international efforts made at top level.
Since April 2001, he has been in charge of the staff function of Corporate Development being responsible for laying down the operational and technological strategy for NAVIAIR’s business areas of CNS/ATM, contractual relations as well as the inside/outside communications.
As Deputy Director General, Mr Claus Hansen resumes his position as Corporate Development Director assuming as well the managerial responsibility for the construction work programmes of NAVIAIR.
Mr Claus Hansen is 51 years old, married and has 3 children.
