New wage settlement with air traffic controllers ...
Dato
11.05.2007

New wage settlement with the air traffic controllers ensures a stable delivery of air traffic control.

In the remaining part of 2007, Naviair will require an extraordinary amount of air traffic controllers, besides the normal day-to-day handling of air traffic, for testing and training activities in connection with the implementation of a new air traffic management system, which is expected to come into operation the 28 December 2007.

Naviair and the Danish Air Traffic Controller Association have concluded an agreement that not only ensures an adequate supply of air traffic controllers but also reduces the risk of Danish air traffic controllers going abroad. With the new settlement the Danish air traffic controller wages will be raised to European level. A typical air traffic controller in Denmark will be earning about DKK 760.000 a year - an average wage rise of about DKK 150.000 a year. The actual wage will, however, depend on length of service and place of employment.

The new wage settlement will cost Naviair around DKK 60 million a year, and the price for flying in Danish airspace is expected to increase with approximately 10 %.
