Naviair migrates to EAD

| The Danish NOTAM operation migrated to EAD, the European AIS Database, on Thursday the 10th of June 2004. Overall seen the migration was a success. A single minor problem was experienced initially, - but luckily this did not affect the users of Danish NOTAM services. During the whole process of cutting over, Naviair's old system was available as backup. By Friday morning the faulty parameter was found and fixed. The Naviair EAD service has since Friday the 11th of June been in operation and has been working according to expectations. However, the “old” national NOTAM data base (DAIS) is going to be maintained, and run in parallel with EAD for the next few months. The exact decommissioning date for DAIS is not yet settled. It is the hope that Naviair by this step will be going to contribute to Air Safety in terms of developing more consistent, more safe and integrated European AIS Management.
