JOINT NEWS RELEASE published by NAVIAIR and NAV CANADA:
(Copenhagen/Ottawa, January 27, 2006) – Naviair -The Danish Air Navigation Service Provider is pleased to announce an agreement with NAV CANADA to install in Copenhagen tower advanced Canadian technology designed to keep track of critical flight data in air traffic control towers and other air traffic facilities. The technology known as the Integrated Information Display System/Extended Computer Display System (IIDS/EXCDS) - developed by NAV CANADA – automates the coordination of flight data movement between various positions in towers, airports and terminals. The Naviair system will be called the Naviair Integrated Tower Operation System or NITOS. Morten Dambæk, Director General of Naviair, said: “Naviair selected NAV CANADA to supply this system on the basis of its excellent functionality, competitive value and compliance with the project specifications. We have been impressed by the commitment and experience of the NAV CANADA team, and look forward to commissioning NITOS.” |
