Entry Point North wins award at Maastricht 2006. On Tuesday 14 February 2006, Naviair and its two sister organisations were awarded with the international aviation award, “ATC Maastricht Award”. Danish Naviair, Swedish LFV and Norwegian Avinor won the award for jointly setting up the school for air traffic controllers, “Entry Point North”, located in Sturup, Malmoe (Sweden). The award was presented at the international aviation exhibition, which takes place this week in Maastricht, Holland. The award was given for “Contribution to safe and efficient airspace management”. It was received by Managing Director of the school, Anne Kathrine Jensen, and chairman of the board, Oddvar Maudal. The award is one of 6 presented at the exhibition and is the only award granted to air navigation service providers. The other awards are granted to other sectors of the aviation industry. ”Entry Point North”, the school for air traffic controllers, was nominated for the award together with three other projects. They were nominated by Janes Airport Review. The winner was chosen by a panel of judges with representatives from Federal Aviation Administration (USA), Eurocontrol, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the international Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) and Janes Airport Review. The award is presented every year at the international aviation exhibition in Maastricht. This year, it was presented for the sixth time. |
